There is something very odd about Lana. It is as if a David Lynch character has walked into a music world mostly scripted by Simon Cowell. Her popularity flies in the face of the current accepted wisdom that showing the public how real and normal you are, Adele-style, is the key to success. Lana’s oddness -a sense that there is something spooky or unsettling about her- is what gives her star quality, more than the gorgeous voice, or the beautiful face.
